List of Some of our Proposed Projects:

A. WELLNESS PROJECT
-Nutrition and Safe Places
North Africa
Provide emergency food and transitional housing for women
who are war refugees. One year project
$100 per person. Total project cost $25,000.

-Safe Childbirth
North Africa
A small medical and support staff will provide a clean and safe
environment for 200 women giving birth. One year project.
$75 per person. Total project cost $15,000.

-AIDS prevention and sexual education training
Egypt
A gynecologist and her husband, a counselor, will conduct seminars
for young women in rural areas to provide information about AIDS
awareness and prevention, family planning, female health, and self-esteem
issues. Information pamphlets and lunch are provided. One year project.
$5 per person. Total project costs $5,000.


B. EDUCATION PROJECTS
-Literacy
India
This program will allow women to gain literacy, health information and general medical
care, participate in self-help groups and give hope for a better life. Approximately 85% of
the participants graduate with a 5th grade level in reading, writing and math.  
Two year project.
$30 per student. Total project cost $90,000.

Egypt
Teach 500 women how to read, write, do basic math, and learn
micro enterprise business principles.  
Two year project.
$75 per student. Total project cost $37,500.

-Secondary and Higher Education Grants (more details)
Egypt
Educational financial support for 500 girls enrolled in secondary
(high school) and university levels, including educational fees,
transportation, and complete care until they reach independent life.
Two year project.
$350 per student. Total project cost $175,000.

India
Provide scholarship funding for a PhD in education candidate
whose goal after graduation is to work with women in
Southern India helping women to improve their lives.
Three year project. Start date was May 1, 2007; first year tuition
and purchase of computer -$3,000. Two years remain: $4,000.
Total project cost $7,000.  

Egypt
Provide scholarships for two disabled graduate students who intend to work for the
betterment of women in their country.
Three year project.  Total cost of project $20,000.

C. ECONOMIC PROJECT
-Micro Loan Program
Bangladesh
Provide 2400 women with micro loans to start or improve
small entrepreneurial businesses.
Three year project. Start date April 1, 2007.  $20,000 provided for first phase.

-Micro Loan and Small Business Training
Nigeria
Provide micro loans and small business training for 300 women.
Three year project.
Average cost per person $100  Total project cost $30,000.
